Product Creation Services | Blank Products - Production Spreadsheet

What information do we request and why?

Before we can begin production of your Blank products we will contact you to ask for image assets and also setup information / data.

We have a predefined Production Spreadsheet that you will be asked to complete with Name, SKU, Print Specification and if applicable, Colour and Size information.

You will also be provided with a shared link to a One Drive folder so that you can supply us with images to use for the Blank product(s).

We request this information simply because we don't know your Blank products as well as you do, the better the information and guidance that you provide us with, the quicker our Product Creators can configure the Blank products in our platform to meet your expectations, and most critically your fulfilment requirements.

We think of this information as an instruction manual that tells us how to put your Blank products together.

Please note that we cannot schedule any work into production until we have all of the necessary assets and information.

Critical Note: Any delay in providing the product assets or setup information may lead to the job being rescheduled and any delivery dates being pushed back.

One Drive Folder

The One Drive folder provides you with a place in the cloud to upload the image files of your Blank products and also any print templates that will will assist us with the accuracy of your Blank product setup. The image files will be used either to preview your Blank products online (if you have ordered 2d Blanks), or to model your Blank products from (if you have ordered 3d Blanks) so make sure they show your product at it's best!

We have dedicated articles that deal with the image asset requirements for 2d and 3d Blank Products, please refer to the links below for details on the images (and their formatting) that we require from you.

Please create sub folders per product SKU in your One Driver shared folder to help our Product Creators easily find the correct reference for the Blank product they are working on.

If you have multiple images for the same Blank product eg: Front, Rear, Left, Right please make sure they are named accordingly.

This additional administration may seem tedious but the aim is to avoid any doubt on our side as confusion slows down the production process and can also lead to mistakes that will have to be rectified and lead to delays in you going live.

Production Sheet

The Production Sheet is a cloud based document meaning that any changes you make will be automatically saved and accessible by all parties with access, which makes it the easiest way for you to share information with us and collaborate on your product creation.

Each Blank product should be listed on a separate row in the sheet.

Important Note: We request information in this format as the sheets are tied to our Onboarding System, so they get imported directly into our production queue. This ensures your products can be created as quickly as possible.

Spreadsheet Breakdown:

Please note that there may be subtle differences in header names between the 2d and 3d production sheets.
Critical: Anything marked in RED in the spreadsheet is a critical piece of information. We advise all fields to be populated where possible/applicable.

Product Name - Name of the Blank product on the KornitX platform. Once the products are created the names can be changed via an eCommerce import or manually in the Platform itself.

Supplier SKU / Product Code (SKU) - Each Blank product requires a SKU. The supplier SKU is recognised by the Fulfiller when an order is received so that they know what product needs to be printed.

Product Preview Assets - Use this column to link to the images that you have uploaded to the Drive folder relating to the product on that particular row.

Product Dimensions - These are the dimensions of the physical product (in mm). This ensures the product will be accurately scaled in relation to the personalisation area that is set - the result is that what you see on screen is as accurate as it possibly can be vs the final printed product received by the end customer.

Print Format - This is the print output format that will be generated when an order is received.  It can be one of Raster or Vector.  We will always set Raster to be the default if not advised otherwise as this covers 95%+ of all setup requirements.

Print Area Name(s) - Simply the name of the print area(s) which will be defined against the Blank product. The most common examples of this we find are "Print Area", "Area" and "Wrap" or ones related to orientation eg: "Front" and "Rear".

Print Template - If you have a print template available for your Blank product in pdf / jpeg / png format etc, please upload to the Driver folder for the specific product and link to the file in this column.  Print templates provide us with the best guidance for configuring your print areas.  Please also provide some guidance on the placement of the print area relative to the product if you feel this may be unclear to us.

A great substitute for a print template is a live order that you have successfully printed for the product, we can then set up the product to be a perfect match to this.

Print Size  - As a minimum, we require print dimensions (width x height in mm INCLUDING any bleed). These values represent the size of the output file that our system will produce when an order is placed.  You should provide us with some guidance in terms of placement in this scenario as it may not be clear where the print area should be placed on the product.

Print DPI - 300 DPI is the default print setting unless otherwise specified. It is important to note that the maximum print dimensions our system is capable of generating @ 300dpi are 1000 x 1000mm* so for any print dimensions greater than this, a lower DPI must be specified.   The range of DPI settings our platform supports is 40 - 300.

Product Colour OptionsThis column allows you to specify a single colour changeable element on the product (if any). For example, if you had a sports bottle that had a variety of different lid colours, you could specify the Lid in this section. Multiple areas should be clearly specified.

Note: If the product is to be available in multiple colour variations, upload all applicable images and ensure that they are named according to the colour names given in this spreadsheet.

Product Size Options - Use this column to list the product sizes that are available for the product (if applicable).

Variant SKU Format - This column can be used to specify any Variant SKUs or to detail the Variant SKU format to be used with the product.  Note that this is generally only relevant to apparel products where size and colour are used in the Variant SKU eg: Vest-Red-XL

Additional Notes / Guidelines - Please use this column to add any additional notes that would assist us in the creation of the Blank product.  For instance if the product is listed on a website there may be additional images there that we can use as reference.
